A week in San Pedro la Laguna

After getting into Guatemala city I caught a bus back to Panajachel, and a boat across Lake Atitlan to San Pedro la Laguna to enroll in another Spanish school.  Found one, enrolled and they took me to my family. My week consisted pretty much of refried beans and rice, going to school, swimming in the beautiful lake, and having a few 1L Gallo’s at the gringo bars and meeting heaps of people.  I graduated at the end of the week with a moving speech in Spanish, of the hardships and obstacles that I had to over come to get where I was today, that left a tear in everybody’s eye and I had managed to expand my Spanish vocabulary to, “uno Gallo grande, por favor”, one big beer please.
