Arriving in Mexico City at 6am after 11hrs on the bus that had seating to put first class QANTAS to shame, I first felt anxiuos, then nervious, then apprehensive. Not really, but I had heard a lot of bad wrap for the city and was orginally going to bypass it. Very glad I didn't. We stayed in a back packers on the city square (second largest in the world) that is surrounded by the Parliment house, the President's house and a huge church orginaly covered in gold, and host to various protests and political gatherings every day. We spent the day having a look around and visiting aztec ruins that the Spanish smashed up and built over in the 16th centry when Cortez came over and bashed up Montezuma and his peoples. Next day headed out to Teotihuacan (see photos), the ruins of a huge city of piramids and temples built around the time of christ and home to 200,000.
