After enjoying a couple of days in Zihu it was time to head off, said good bye to the Canacs, and decided to head for the border, which was still ages away.
Zihua to Acapulco 4hrs bus
Acapulco to Salina Cruz 13hrs bus
Salina Crus to Juchitan De Zaragoza 1hr bus
Juchitan To Tapachula 6hr bus
This added up to about 33hrs of travelling and waiting, getting good at it.
Along the way we befriended some Mexican dude from the north near the USA border that spoke basically no English. He came on the last two bus rides and stayed with us at a hotel in Tapachula. I think he thought Rees and I were gay (a fair assumption) as we got him to book the room at the hotel and he booked a room with two double beds between the three of us. Either that or he thought he might have a chance with Rees, as they had been getting along quite well.
Next morning I awoke very refreshed after having a double bed to myself all night. Rees however looked a little worse for wear, like he had no sleep at all, and had a funny walk all day. The mexican looked tried, but he had a huge smile and was very happy.
We jumped in a taxi and headed for the Guatemalan border, 20 mins away.
